August 2020 ACOT Hop

Welcome to the August Blog Hop for A Cherry on Top Crafts! This month our design team focused on the theme of books and/or school! With the new school year just around the corner, I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to scrap reading/education related pics!

These two photos of my youngest son are some of my favorites of him reading. He was not really a fan of books for a long time, but once we started homeschooling and I introduced him to the magic of illustrated encyclopedias (he LOVES non-fiction, it turns out!), he was hooked! My favorite part of this layout is the gold puffy shapes that I used behind my photos and to hold my journaling. I thought it was clever to create a shelf underneath with them!

I used mainly the Office Hours collection from Pinkfresh Studio, though the puffy gold pieces came from Simple & Sweet, which has been discontinued. I loved this book shelves paper and just had to use it for my background, but the title came from my some himself! I asked him to come up with a book pun and this was what he said, “Treat Yo’ Shelf!” I have to admit, that one cracked me up, and I had to add it in!

If you’d like to see this layout come together, I’ve included the process video below!

Thanks for stopping by!
