LIVE Scrapping Every Friday!

 Image (1)

Every single Friday, I jump on Youtube and scrap LIVE with my sweet and lovely scrappy friends for an impromptu crop! I try to mix it up between interactive mini albums, 9x12 and 12x12 layouts, easy mixed media backgrounds, and DIY embellishments to keep it fresh and fun. You can find my channel HERE.

Last night we had a blast with the Dear Lizzy She's Magic collection and these two adorable pictures of my daughter. She's so photogenic! I love how these came out and immediately knew I wanted to scrap this photo of her with She's Magic. The colors are just spot on. After an hour and a half of chatting Creativation discoveries and adventures in real life, I finished this 9x12 of my sweet girl to add to her album!

I hope you will join in for some scrappy fun next time! I always start at 8pm USA CST on Friday and it usually lasts between an hour or two. You can scrap along with me or just enjoy giggling along to our silly stories in the chat!

Nuvo Embellishment Mousse Tutorial

If you’re looking for an easy way to dip your toe in the mixed media world, this is a great place to start! Nuvo Embellishment Mousse works as a texture paste, watercolor, mist/spray, glaze, and more. Today, I’m using it to make mixed media backgrounds for birthday cards. I’m using the Powder Blue, Aquamarine, and Peony Pink Embellishment mousse as well as the Nuvo Spatulas on this project.

For the first background, I rubbed the Powder Blue Mousse on the background in a circular pattern and then splattered with the Aquamarine Mousse that I had mixed with water.  Just scoop a small amount of mousse out onto a palette and add a little water to create instant watercolor!

For the second background, I used the spatula to spread the Peony Pink Mousse through a star stencil (by Paige Taylor Evans) and then splattered with the mousse mixed with water just like I did in the first background. This is super easy to do, but make sure you tape down your stencil to keep it from moving around while you’re spreading the mousse.

To finish these cards off, I pulled out the gorgeous Kaisercraft Oh Happy Day collection to embellish both of them and create birthday cards! I did splatter a bit of gold ink and Nuvo Drops around the cards as well, just for a bit of detailing. Super quick and easy! I hope you found this tutorial helpful and will give this awesome Embellishment Mousse a try!
