"So Random" | Legendary Collection | Cocoa Vanilla Studio DT

Hi y’all! Laura here and I’m thrilled to share my first layout as a part of the official Cocoa Vanilla Studio Design Team!  I am over the moon to be a small part of this incredible company!  Today, I have a multi-photo layout featuring my handsome son and the brand new Legendary Collection. I love the earthy tones and outdoorsy feel of this collection so much, it’s just perfect for documenting my kids and their adventures.

I started with the stunning wood grain Outdoors Type paper to mat the center photo and create a border for the outside. I have three fantastic shots of my son as we walked around the neighborhood pond and just couldn’t narrow it down to a favorite, so I scrapped all three! To leave plenty of room for journaling, I focused on embellishing in just two areas, on a diagonal, and keeping the embellishments tight to the photos. Using a patterned paper background like this one, called Offbeat, gave me a head-start, so the layout came together very quickly!

In the top right corner of the layout, I added two tags created from the cut apart page, Total Legend, and then added a cluster of stars from the ephemera pack as well as the clear stickers to cascade off the page. I repeated this style of embellishment on the bottom left side of the photos, adding in a “Legend” ephemera piece and a word phrase to mix it up a little bit.

The final touch was adding the title, popped up on foam, with my favorite phrase from the whole collection, “Stay Weird, Stay Wonderful” underneath of it. Love that! As usual, I had plenty to say and shared my thoughts to my son about staying his authentic self always. I think it’s so important to share those words with him and his siblings, I often add short messages of encouragement like this to my kids’ layouts for now and in the future.

Thank you for checking out my 12×12 scrapbook layout and I hope you find inspiration for your own creations!  If you would like to see how I created this layout, you can watch my process video on YouTube here:
